Dare To Lead™: A Courage Building Program

‘The power of collective courage in an organisation is the absolute best predictor of that organisation’s ability to be successful in terms of it culture, to develop leaders, and to meet its mission.’

Based on the research of Dr Brené Brown, Dare to Lead™ is an empirically based courage-building program designed to be facilitated by organisational development professionals.

The most significant finding from Brené’s latest research is that courage is a collection of four skill sets that are teachable, measurable, and observable. The Dare to Lead™ program focuses on developing these courage-building skills through workshops, trainings and coaching to help individuals, teams and organisations move from armoured leadership to daring leadership.

Certified Dare to Lead™ Facilitators are trained and certified to teach and facilitate the skills and practices of Dare to Lead™ with individuals, teams, and organisations. They are authorised by Brené Brown Education and Research Group (BBEARG) to offer workshops, trainings, and/or coaching related to the Dare to Lead™ content. Individuals who are Dare to Lead™ Trained are personally familiar with the skills and tools for use in their own work situations and relationships and they have been trained by a Certified Dare to Lead™ Facilitator. They are not authorized to teach and facilitate this work to others. Certified Dare to Lead™ Facilitators are authorized to issue Dare to Lead™ Trained certificates and badges to their participants who have completed the full 24-hour curriculum.

Dr. Brené Brown is a research professor at the University of Houston where she holds the Huffington Foundation – Brené Brown Endowed Chair at The Graduate College of Social Work.

She has spent the past two decades studying courage, vulnerability, shame, and empathy, and most recently completed a seven-year study on courageous leadership. She is the author of five #1 New York Times bestsellers. The Gifts of Imperfection, Daring Greatly, Rising Strong, Braving the Wilderness, and Dare to Lead, which also debuted at #1 on The Wall Street Journal and Publisher’s Weekly lists.

Brené’s TED talk – The Power of Vulnerability – is one of the top five most viewed TED talks in the world with over 35 million views. She is also the first researcher to have a filmed talk on Netflix. The Call to Courage special debuted on the streaming service on April 19, 2019.

ANEWDAY’s holistic executive coaching is designed to suit each individual’s needs. Programs can vary and generally run for 10 sessions over 5 months. Depending on clients needs, you can request on-going partnership sessions to continue to embed the learnings and practices from the program. We offer monthly sessions for this purpose. In-house longer term coaching contracts are available on application.
